Sports Premium
The sports premium is a government initiative in the United Kingdom aimed at improving the quality of physical education (PE) and sports provision in primary schools. The funding is provided by the Department for Education and is designed to help schools develop a sustainable and long-term approach to improving the quality of PE and sports activities for all pupils.
At Nancealverne we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, empowerment, and physical benefits of sports and physical activities. For our students with diverse physical disabilities, the Sports Premium Grant enables us to remove barriers to physical engagement and create tailored, inclusive programs that support each student’s well-being, physical development, and confidence.
We use this funding to provide adaptive sports equipment, specialised training for staff, and targeted physical activities designed to meet the needs of our students. Our approach focusses on building strength, flexibility, coordination, and self-esteem in a safe and supportive environment. Through collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals, we create a comprehensive program that allows every child to participate meaningfully and feel the positive effects of an active lifestyle.
With our Sports Premium strategy, we are dedicated to ensuring that physical activity becomes an integral and enjoyable part of our students' lives, empowering them to develop their physical potential and lead healthier lives.
